Jacqueline C. Powers, 52, of Kenwood Street died Monday evening at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield after a short illness.
Born on May 14, 1954, in Great Barrington, daughter of the former Patricia A. Whalen and the late John G. Collins, she was a 1972 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
She briefly attended Berkshire Community College.
She worked as a manager for Berkshire Getaways until leaving there in 2005. Prior to that she worked at the Berkshire Armored Car Service in various positions from 1972 until being named executive vice president in 1981.
Her husband, William F. Powers Jr., died Jan. 5, 1992.
Mrs. Powers loved traveling and riding and training horses.
Besides her mother, Patricia Collins of Pittsfield, she is survived by a sister, Cynthia A. Collins of Pittsfield. She was predeceased by a daughter, Brooke, who died at birth.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Jacqueline Powers, who died Monday, Sept. 11, 2006, will be on Thursday, Sept. 14, at 10 a.m. at KELLY FUNERAL HOME in Lee, with the Rev. John McKinstry, retired U.C.C. Minister, officiating.
Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Friends wishing may make donations in her memory to the Eleanor Sonsini Animal Shelter c/o the funeral home, 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238.
