Jennie Marby, 92, of 426 Lebanon Ave. died yesterday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on Aug. 28, 1914, daughter of Joseph and Gaetavia Messina LeVardi, she attended local schools.
Mrs. Marby was employed by General Electric Co. as an assembler in the power transformer division for 16 years, retiring in 1979. Before that, she worked at the former Berkshire Woolen Mills.
She was a communicant of St. Mark's Church and enjoyed gardening.
She and her husband, Jacob D. Marby Sr., were married Oct. 26, 1940. He died March 10, 1985.
She leaves two sons, Jacob D. Marby Jr. and James F. Marby, both of Pittsfield; a sister, Catherine Frada of Pittsfield; four grandchildren, and four greatgrandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Mrs. Jennie Marby died in Pittsfield on Sunday, Sept. 24, 2006. Beloved grandmother to Judith Buck, Tracie Marby, Jason Marby and Jaime Marby, Great-grandmother to Scotty, Kayla, Ryen and Jacob III.
She also leaves her caregiver, Bridget Nelligan, and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Wednesday, Sept. 27, at 8:15 from DWYER FUNERAL HOME, 776 North St., Pittsfield, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:15 at St. Mark's Church celebrated by the Rev. John Salatino.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be tomorrow from 4 to 7. If friends desire, memorial donations may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires, in care of the funeral home.
