Mary H. Vadala

Mary H. Vadala, 83, formerly of 84 Dodge Ave., died Tuesday at Berkshire Medical Center.
She had resided at Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility for a year and a half.
Born in Pittsfield on May 31, 1923, daughter of Charles and Catherine Osudchuk Huska, she attended local schools.
Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Vadala worked at one time for the former Berkshire Woolen Mills and the former Boston Auto Gage.
She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and enjoyed playing cards and entertaining at her summer home at Ashmere Lake in Hinsdale.
Her husband, John J. Vadala, whom she married July 1, 1950, at St. John's Ukrainian Church, died June 15, 1996.
She leaves two brothers, William Huska of Dalton and Stephen Huska of Pittsfield, and two sisters, Ann Lynch of Webster and Helen Trasatti of Dalton.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Mary H. Vadala, who died Tuesday, Sept. 26, will be tomorrow, Sept. 29, at 8:15 from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 at Sacred Heart Church celebrated by the Rev. James K. Joyce, pastor.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be today from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to St. Jude Children's Hospital, both in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
She also leaves two brothers-in-law, John Trasatti and John M. Berutich; six sisters-in-law, Florence, Mary and Bernice Huska, Rose and Mary Vadala, and Anne Berutich; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, John Huska, and by three sisters, Dorothy Arpante, Nancy Palmer and Jessie LaMarche.
