Doris N. Vallone, 80, of 349 Lenox Ave. died yesterday at Springside of Pittsfield.
Born in West Stockbridge on July 9, 1926, daughter of Giulio and Rose Sondrini Delmolino, she attended schools there and in Stockbridge.
She was a 1945 graduate of the former Williams High School.
Mrs. Vallone was employed as a sales clerk for 45 years in various department stores in Pittsfield. She was last employed at Filene's department store in Lanesborough as a sales associate from 1996 until her retirement in 2001. She was also the proprietor of the former Vallone's Florist and Greenhouse for 12 years on West Housatonic Street.
She was a communicant of All Soul's Church, and enjoyed reading.
She and her husband, James Vallone, were married July 19, 1947, in St. Patrick's Church in West Stockbridge. He died Dec. 14, 2002.
She leaves three sons, Vincent M. Vallone, Francis J. Vallone, and Jay Vallone, all of Pittsfield; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Doris N. Vallone, who died Friday, Sept. 29, 2006, will take place Tuesday, Oct. 3, at 9 from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., Pittsfield. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 at All Soul's Church by the Rev. Geoffrey J. Deeker, CSS, pastor.
Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Pittsfield. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Monday, Oct. 2, from 5 to 7.
She leaves eight grandchildren, Jodi Ann Vallone, Kristy Lynn Moriarty, Ashley and Jessica Vallone, Gina Marie Vallone Whitehouse, Vincent Michael Vallone Jr., Kristen and Albert Whiteley; and three great-grandchildren, Luke Whitehouse, Anthony Whiteley and Kaylan Moriarty.
