Theresa Julie Navroski, 80, of 12 Hall Place died Saturday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Nazareth, Pa., on May 26, 1926, daughter of George and Helen Unger, she attended schools there.
She moved to Pittsfield in 1963.
Mrs. Navroski was the housekeeper at St. Joseph's Rectory for 20 years, retiring in the early 1990s. Before that, she was employed by the Pittsfield Public School System for four years as a teacher's aide in the Head Start program.
She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church and a fan of the Red Sox.
She and her husband, Jacob L. Navroski, celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary July 22. They were married at Holy Family Church in Nazareth.
Besides her husband, she leaves four daughters, Diane Navroski of Smithfield, N.C., Kathleen Craig of Clermont, Fla., and Joan Williams and Debra Navroski, both of Pittsfield; three sons, Ronald Navroski of Richmond, Va., John Navroski of Pittsfield and Arnold Navroski of Hopewell, Va.; a brother, Steven Unger of Nazareth; three sisters, Rose Kocher of Easton, Pa., and Agnes Deutsch and Martha Trinkle, both of Nazareth; 10 grandchildren;and three great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Theresa Navroski, who died Oct. 7, 2006, will be Wednesday at 8:15 from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 at St. Joseph's Church celebrated by the Rev. Michael Shershanovich, pastor.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be tomorrow from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
