Elizabeth Marie Pagano, 86, of Melbourne Place, 140 Melbourne Road, died yesterday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Bronx, N.Y., on Sept. 2, 1920, daughter of Alfred and Angiolina Biondo Pagano, she graduated from Evander Childs High School in 1938.
She was a longtime resident of Manorville, N.Y., before moving to North Adams in 1991 and to Pittsfield in 2004.
Miss Pagano retired from a department store in New York, where she worked in retail sales. Before that, she was employed in the office of A&P Supermarket in New York.
She was a communicant of St. Francis' Church in North Adams.
While in New York, she was a communicant of St. Jude's Church in Mastic Beach and a member of its Legion of Mary and of the Columbiettes.
She leaves a brother, the Rev. Peter E. Pagano of North Adams.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Elizabeth Marie Pagano, who died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2006, will be celebrated Friday, Oct. 13, at 10 at Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 84 K St., Turners Falls, by the Rev. Charles DiMascola, pastor.
Burial will follow in Our Lady of Czestochowa Cemetery in Turners Falls. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the AREMAY Foundation in care of FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, CENTRAL CHAPEL, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247, which is in charge of arrangements. Her twin brother, the Rev. Marcellus S. Pagano, died in November 1991.
