Frances A. Serven

Frances A. Serven, 88, of 169 Valentine Road died Tuesday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on Aug. 6, 1918, daughter of Hugh and Anna Hoctor Serven, she graduated from schools in New Lebanon, N.Y.
She also graduated from the former LeBaron Beauty Academy. She lived in West Lebanon for many years and had resided in Pittsfield since 1980.
She was employed for many years as a hairdresser at the former Mayfair Beauty Salon and the former Farris Beauty Salon, retiring from the hairdressing business in 2000.
She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Pittsfield. While living in New Lebanon, she was a communicant of the Church of the Immaculate Conception.
She leaves a nephew and four nieces.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Miss Frances A. Serven died in Pittsfield on Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2006. The funeral will be Monday, Oct. 23, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. in the Church of the Immaculate Conception in New Lebanon, N.Y. Burial will follow in the Cemetery of the Evergreens in Lebanon Springs, N.Y.
There are no calling hours at DWYER FUNERAL HOME, which is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Church of the Immaculate Conception in care of the funeral home, 776 North St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
Miss Serven leaves a nephew, William Black of New Lebanon, N.Y., and four nieces, Denise Bell of Merritt Island, Fla., Joan Liles of Cape Coral, Fla., Anne Jost of Great Barrington and Mary Margaret Black of Cobleskill, N.Y., as well as many great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a nephew, James W. Black.
