Vincent L. Venturini

Vincent L. Venturini, 85, formerly of 33 State St., died Wednesday at Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility, where he had resided for the past 11 months.
Born in Lee on Aug. 18, 1921, son of Ernesto and Anunziata Abaticola Venturini, he was a resident of Pittsfield for most of his life, and a 1940 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
He was an Air Force veteran of World War II, and was honorably discharged as a corporal in 1946.
He was employed for many years has a bread salesman at the former Bond Bread Co. Later, he was employed as a stock chaser in the General Electric Co. ordnance department., retiring in 1986 after 20 years of service.
He was a communicant of St. Mark's Church and volunteered for many years at their bingo.
He was also a sexton at St. Mark's. He enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing, and was a third-degree member of the Knights of Columbus.
His wife, the former Concetta Mosca, died March 26, 1996. They were married May 29, 1947, at Mount Carmel Church.
He leaves three daughters, Donna M. Murray, Diane M. Manns and Susan V. Kelly, all of Pittsfield; two brothers, Joseph Venturini and Anthony Venturini, both of Pittsfield; two sisters, Mary Palano and Rose Marchetti, both of Pittsfield; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Mr. Vincent L. Venturini died in Pittsfield on Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2006. Loving grandfather to Jeffrey Murray, Erin Gaiero, Carole Wendling, Nicholas Manns and Andrew Manns, Gregory Kelly, Timothy Kelly and Lauren Kelly. Beloved great-grandfather to Brandon and Sierra Murray. He also leaves his three sons-in-law, Raymond L. Murray, Francis X. Manns and Timothy E. Kelly.
The funeral will be tomorrow, Oct. 21, at 8 a.m. from DWYER FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in St. Mark's Church celebrated by the Rev. John Salatino, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Calling hours will be today from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to HospiceCare of the Berkshires care of the funeral home in his memory. Mr. Venturini was predeceased by a sister, Carmina Polchlopek.
