Richard Smith, 57, of 19 Madison Ave. died Thursday at UMass Medical Center in Worcester.
Born in Pittsfield on Jan. 28, 1949, son of the late Floyd and Lois Converse Smith, he was a 1968 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Mr. Smith served in the Navy during the Vietnam War.
He worked at AdLib Inc. of Berkshire County and at the Dakota Steakhouse, and volunteered for many years at the St. Mark's Church food pantry.
He leaves a brother, Floyd Smith of Pittsfield.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Mr. Richard A. Smith died in Worcester on Thursday, Oct. 19, 2006. The funeral will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours.
If friends desire, donations may be made in his memory to the St. Mark's food pantry, in care of DWYER FUNERAL HOME, 776 North St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
