Rachel Douglas, 94, of 89 South St. died Tuesday morning at home.
Born in Washington, D.C., on July 18, 1906, daughter of George A. and Rachel R. Hayden Stevens, she graduated from White Memorial Hospital Nursing School in Los Angeles.
Prior to her marriage, she was employed as a registered nurse at the Washington Sanitarium and Hospital in Tacoma Park, Md. She moved to Pittsfield in 1990 from Mollusk, Va.
Mrs. Douglas was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Her husband, George W. Douglas Sr., died in December 1989.
She leaves a son, Dr. George W. Douglas of Pittsfield; a daughter, Ann Marie Kellner of Lewes, Del.; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A son, Dr. Steven C. Douglas, died in September 1976.
A private burial will be held in the Oakland United Church Cemetery in Farnham, Va. There are no calling hours. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Berkshire Hills Seventh-day Adventist School in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, which is in charge of arrangements.
