Helen R. Evans, 95, formerly of Virginia Avenue, died Wednesday, Oct. 25, at Hillcrest Commons, where she had resided for the past 4 1/2 years.
Born in Blandford on Aug. 12, 1911, daughter of Joseph and Marie Pouliot Garneau, she attended schools in Huntington.
She had been employed by the former Huntington Woolen Mill.
Mrs. Evans was a communicant of St. Mary the Morning Star Church.
She enjoyed travel and interior decorating.
Her husband, Francis Evans, whom she married on May 20, 1972, died July 11, 2000.
She leaves several nieces and nephews.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Helen R. Evans, who died Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2006, will be held on Friday, Nov. 3, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary the Morning Star Church, celebrated by the Rev. Paul A. Bomardier, pastor.
Burial will be at a later date in St. Thomas Cemetery in Huntington. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Church in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
