Jason A. Lacroix, 30, of 102 Coffey Hill Road, Ware, died Friday from injuries suffered in a motor vehicle accident.
His wife, the former Jeanne Manion, is a native of Pittsfield.
Born in El Paso, Texas, on Dec. 21, 1975, son of Mark A. Lacroix and Cathy Corbett Lacroix Emerson, he was raised in North Brookfield and was a 1993 graduate of North Brookfield High School.
He graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1997 with a bachelor's degree in nursing and received his master's degree in acute care from UMass in Worcester in 2006.
Mr. Lacroix was a nurse practitioner at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield in Cardiac Surgery Services. Previously, he was a critical care registered nurse in the hospital's cardiac intensive care unit for eight years.
He enjoyed fishing, music, snowboarding and riding his motorcycles.
Besides his wife and mother, of Brookfield, and his father, of Littleton, Colo., he leaves two sons, Colin Lacroix of Spencer and Cameron Lacroix at home; two daughters, Haley Lacroix of Spencer and Hannah Lacroix at home; three brothers, Wesley Lacroix of North Brookfield, and Russell Emerson III and Kyle Emerson, both of North Brookfield; a sister, Jeri Emerson of Brookfield; his stepfather, Russell "Chip" Emerson II of Brookfield; his stepmother, Linda Lacroix of Littleton; his maternal grandmother, Bertina Corbett of North Brookfield; and his paternal grandfather, Robert Lacroix of East Brookfield, and paternal stepgrandmother, Betty Lacroix of East Brookfield.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Jason Lacroix, who died Nov. 3, 2006, will be today, Nov. 7, at 11 at PILLSBURY FUNERAL HOME, Route 9, Old West Brookfield Road, Brookfield.
Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery in North Brookfield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lacroix Children Education Fund, in care of North Brookfield Savings Bank, Summer Street, North Brookfield, MA 01535.
Jason also leaves his parents-in-law, David and Patricia Manion of Pittsfield; cousins, Tanya and Jamie Lemerise; a sister-in-law, Beth Manion of Belchertown; a brother-in-law, Jeff Manion of Lee; a niece, Avery Manion of Lee; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and many friends.
