Thomas J. Brown

Thomas J. Brown, 81, of Westfield, formerly of Pittsfield, died Saturday at Governors Center, a nursing facility in Westfield.
Born in Elizabeth, N.J., on April 12, 1925, son of Emile and Marion Kelly Brown, he attended schools in Hillsdale, N.Y.
He lived most of his life in Pittsfield and moved to Westfield recently.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Brown was employed by General Electric Co. as an assembler for 35 years, retiring in 1985.
He was a member of the former Notre Dame Church, the Pittsfield Veterans of Foreign Wars post, and the Franco-American and Italian-American clubs. He enjoyed woodworking and collecting die-cast cars.
His wife, the former Virginia Mattoon, died in June 1991.
He leaves two sons, Michael J. Brown of Westfield and Donald Green of Georgia; a daughter, Kay Keller of Schenectady, N.Y.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Another daughter, Thomasinia Brown, died Aug. 5.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Thomas J. Brown, who died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2006, will be tomorrow, Nov. 21, at 8 p.m. at FIRTION-ADAMS FUNERAL HOME, 76 Broad St., Westfield.
Calling hours will precede the funeral, from 6 to 8. A graveside service will take place Wednesday at 10 at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Pittsfield. Memorial donations in memory of Tom may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Western Mass., 153 Magazine St., Springfield, MA 01109.
He also leaves a daughter-in-law, Virginia; four grandchildren and their spouses, Jason Marcoulier of Chester, and Joshua Marcoulier and his wife, Kerree, Seth Thomas-Joseph Brown and Jeremiah Jacob Brown and his wife, Cathy, all of Westfield; and three great-grandchildren, Victoria, Julianne and Jacob.
