Stephen E. Walsh

Stephen E. Walsh, 46, died yesterday at his residence in Winslow, Maine, after a battle with cancer.
He was the son-in-law of Donald Westbrook of Pittsfield.
Born Nov. 1, 1960, in Norwood, the son of Edward and Mary Allard Walsh, he graduated from Millis High School. He attended Georgia Tech and graduated from Salem State College. He later received his master's degree in health administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Before retiring due to illness, he was the president of Health Reach Community Health Centers and past president of the Maine Primary Care Association. He enjoyed music and theater and recently served as board chairman of the Waterville Opera House.
In high school, he was an all-state trumpet player. In addition to the arts, Mr. Walsh coached in the "Odyssey of the Mind" program several teams that won state titles, including one team that placed second in the World Finals.
He leaves his wife, Donna Westbrook Walsh of Winslow; three children, Daniel, Jonathan and Adriana Walsh, all of Winslow; his mother, Mary Allard Walsh of South Yarmouth; two brothers, David Walsh of Millis and Michael Walsh of Franklin; two sisters, Kathleen Flores of Humble, Texas, and Elizabeth Lambert of Worcester.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Visiting hours for Stephen Walsh, who died Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2006, will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday at VEILLEUX FUNERAL HOME, 8 Elm St., Waterville, Maine. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 25, 2006, at St. John the Baptist Church, Monument Street, Winslow, Maine.
Burial will follow at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, Grove Street, Waterville. In lieu of flowers, donations in Stephen's memory may be made to The Stephen Walsh Memorial Scholarship Fund, Health Reach Community Health Centers, P.O. Box 1568, Waterville, ME 04903. He was predeceased by his father, Edward; his mother-in-law, Filomena Westbrook; and a brother-in-law, Robert Westbrook.
He also leaves his father-in-law, Donald Westbrook of Pittsfield; two sisters-in-law, Mary Coveney of Millis, and Patricia Walsh of Franklin; two brothers-in-law, Sidronio Flores of Humble, Texas, and Paul Lambert of Worcester, as well as nieces and nephews.
