Robert A. Cook

November 26, 2006

Robert A. Cook, 46, of 277 Connecticut Ave. died Sunday at home.

Born in Pittsfield on July 14, 1960, son of Raymond J. Cook Sr. and Rosemary Monteleone Cook, he attended Pittsfield schools, including St. Joseph's High School and Taconic High School.

He graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1978. While in high school, he participated in wrestling and received a letter of achievement award from each high school. He also attended Berkshire Community College.

He served in the Navy.

He was employed at Berkshire Medical Center for 26 years, and at the time of his death was employed as a technician in the renal dialysis department.

Mr. Cook enjoyed carpentry, boating and riding his motorcycle. He was a member of the Lenox Sportsman Club.

He leaves two sons, Robert A. Cook Jr. and Scott M. Cook, both of Pittsfield; two daughters, Melissa M. Cook and Kristina M. Cook, both of Pittsfield; a twin brother, Raymond J. Cook Jr. of Pittsfield; three sisters, Diane Balardini of Pittsfield, Ann Marie Rathbun of Williamstown, and Charlene Hudtloff of Templeton, Calif.; two grandchildren; and his former wife, Elaine Keeler Cook of Pittsfield.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Robert A. Cook, who died on Sunday, Nov. 26, 2006, will take place Thursday at 8 a.m. from the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., Pittsfield. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. at Mount Carmel Church by the Rev. Geoffrey J. Deeker, CSS, pastor.

Burial will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Calling hours at the funeral home will be tomorrow from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Scott M. & Kristina M. Cook Educational Fund in care of the funeral home.

He also leaves two grandchildren, Vanessa Tapor and Kaleigh Lovato, and several aunts and uncles.
