Clement "Chuck" Gage

Clement "Chuck" Gage, 60, of 11 Walden Lane died yesterday at Berkshire Medical Center after a short illness.

Born in Pittsfield on March 24, 1946, son of Evelyn Bordeau Wendling and the late George Gage, he was a 1965 graduate of Wahconah Regional High School. A resident of Dalton most of his life, he moved to Pittsfield 2 1/2 years ago.

Mr. Gage was employed by General Electric Co. in the shipping department of the power transformer department, retiring in 1996 with 32 years of service. Following his retirement, he became a partner with his son, Kevin Gage, in K.C. Gage Construction.

He was a communicant of St. Agnes' Church and a member of the GE Quarter-Century and Pensioners' clubs. He enjoyed all sports and was a NASCAR fan.

He and his wife, the former Patricia Resnick, were married May 15, 1965, in Pittsfield.

Besides his wife and mother, of Dalton, he leaves four sons, Kenneth Gage, Kevin Gage and Robert Gage, all of Pittsfield, and Paul Gage of Cheshire; three brothers, Gerald Wendling of Dalton, Charles Wendling of Windsor and Robert Wendling of Pittsfield; five sisters, Doreen Daly, Nancy Tripp and Sandra Behne, all of Pittsfield, Judy Morrisey of Magnolia, Calif., and Debra Beekman of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and seven grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his stepfather, Charles "Bucky" Wendling.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Clement "Chuck" Gage died in Pittsfield on Monday, Dec. 11, 2006. The funeral will be Thursday at 9 from DWYER FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Agnes' Church celebrated by the Rev. Christopher Malatesta, pastor.

Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Pittsfield. Calling hours will be at the funeral home tomorrow from 4 to 7. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, in care of the funeral home, 776 North St., Pittsfield, 01201.

He was a loving grandfather to Brittany and Colby Gage, both of Adams, Zachary and Allison Gage, both of Pittsfield, Madison Gage of Cheshire, Cortnie Wager of Pittsfield and Lauren Carrigan of Cheshire. He especially enjoyed watching his sons and grandchildren compete in sports.
