Antoinette DiNicola, 87, of 164 Elm St. died Monday at St. Francis' Hospital in Hartford, Conn.
Born in Lee on March 14, 1919, daughter of Diego and Frances Insalaco Carlino, she attended schools in Lee and Pittsfield.
She moved to Pittsfield when she was 8.
She was employed by General Electric Co. for several years, retiring in 1981. Prior to that, she was employed by the former Dale Brothers Laundry for a short time and then by the former Glix Brandt Pajama Factory from 1935 to 1942.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, a member of its Ladies Guild, and a member of the Sons of Italy Itam Lodge No. 564.
She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, seamstress work and spending time with her family.
She married Antonio DiNicola, on Aug. 6, 1955, at Mt. Carmel Church. He died May 29, 2000.
She leaves behind a son, Anthony J. DiNicola of Burlington, Conn.; two daughters, Teresa A. Weisman of Framingham and Frances E. DiNicola of Worcester; and five grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Antoinette M. DiNicola, who died Monday, Dec. 11, 2006, will take place Friday at 9 a.m. from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., Pittsfield, MA 01201. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church by the Rev. Geoffrey J. Deeker C.S.S. Pastor.
Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Thursday, from 4 to 7 p.m. Mt. Carmel Ladies Guild will meet at 5:30 p.m. for a prayer service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to C.O.P.D. Foundation Inc., in care of the funeral home.
Survivors include five grandchildren, Anthony J. DiNicola II, Christopher M. DiNicola, Daniel S. DiNicola, Timothy J. Weisman and Rebecca J. Weisman; a daughter-in-law, Eileen DiNicola; and a son-in-law, Alan Weisman. She was predeceased by a son, James A. DiNicola; and two brothers, Giuseppe Carlino and James Carlino. Antoinette was a loving mother, grandmother and will be missed by all who loved her.
