Raymond F. Tremlett Jr., 73, of Tewksbury died Saturday at home.
He was the father of Scott D. Tremlett of Pittsfield.
Born in Boston on Aug. 31, 1933, son of Raymond F. and Cecily Dunn Tremlett, he was raised in the Dorchester section of Boston and attended schools there. He graduated from Boston English High School in 1951 and from Curry College, where he received a degree in business administration.
He resided in South Boston until moving to Tewksbury in 1974.
A Marine veteran of the Korean War, he enlisted in 1952.
Mr. Tremlett was employed as a subcontract workers' compensation auditor for insurance companies, retiring in 1996.
He was a communicant of St. William's Church in Tewksbury and a member of Tewksbury-Wilmington Elks 2070 and the Knights of Columbus, Father Francis Coppens Council 4336, of Tewksbury.
He enjoyed watching sports and playing golf.
He and his wife, the former Joan M. McLaughlin, celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary Aug. 29.
Besides his wife and son, he leaves three other sons, Raymond F. Tremlett III of Londonderry, N.H., Douglas J. Tremlett of Nashua, N.H., and Patrick J. "Boo" Tremlett of Woburn; a sister, Cecily M. Tremlett of Weymouth; and 10 grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Calling hours for Raymond F. Tremlett Jr., who died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2006, will be Wednesday from 4 to 6 at FARMER & DEE FUNERAL HOME, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. The funeral will be Thursday at 8:30 from the funeral home.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 9:30 at St. William's Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment will be at noon in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack St., No. 9, Lawrence, MA 01843.
Mr. Tremlett also leaves three daughters-in-law, Barb (Seago), Heidi (Popp) and Stephanie (O'Brien); his son Raymond's friend, Shari Stephen; and his grandchildren, Raymond F.
