Robert E. Harrison Sr.

Robert E. Harrison Sr., 74, of 222 Dalton Division Road died Friday at home.
Born in Pittsfield on Feb. 15, 1932, son of Herbert E. and Marjorie Renfrew Harrison, he was a 1949 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
An Army veteran of the Korean War, he served from 1953 to 1954.
Mr. Harrison was employed by General Electric Co. as a machinist in the ordnance division for 44 years. He retired in 1992.
He was a member of the GE Quarter Century and Pensioners' clubs and enjoyed gardening and working on his lawn. He was a Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan.
He and his wife, the former Maureen McCarty, would have celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary Jan. 13. They were married in Lebanon, N.Y.
Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Robert E. Harrison Jr. of Naples, Fla., and Shaun P. Harrison of Pittsfield; three daughters, Michelle Miner and Mary Ellen Genzabella, both of Pittsfield, and Katherine Cowan of Dalton; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and two step-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by another daughter, Christine Harrison, on Jan. 21, 2004.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Robert E. Harrison Sr., 74, who died Dec. 29, 2006, will be celebrated Wednesday, Jan. 3, at 11 at Sacred Heart Church by the Rev. James K. Joyce, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made to the SIOGA Club or to a charity of one's choosing in care of DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME, 40 Maplewood Ave., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
He also leaves his grandchildren, Andrew Harrison, Richard Genzabella Jr., Amy Genzabella, Jennifer Harrison, Noah Cowan, Melissa Miner, Michael Genzabella, Matthew Harrison, Matthew Miner, Sarah Cowan, Samantha Harrison and Emily Cowan; his great-grandchildren, Ryan Harrison and Brandon McManus, and Hailey, Hannah and Abigail Genzabella; his step-great-grandchildren, Jacob and Leeana Beebe; his son-in-law, Richard Genzabella Sr.; his daughter-in-law, Linda Harrison; his aunt, Blanche Harrison, and his close friends, Michael Burns and Peter Myers.
