William "Pickles" Mitchell Pensivy Sr.

William "Pickles" Mitchell Pensivy Sr., 76, of Michelle Manor, 40 Linden St., died yesterday at his home.
Born in Lenox Dale on Nov. 21, 1930, son of Mitchell and Anna Dulfied Pensivy, he was a graduate of Lenox High School.
Mr. Pensivy was employed for more than 25 years in the ordnance department, building 41, of General Electric Co., retiring in 1992. He also worked at Kelly Lumber and, at one time, was general manager of Bousquet Ski Area.
During the summer following his high school graduation, he played trumpet with the Boston Symphony Orchestra at Tanglewood in Lenox. He enjoyed country music and dancing, and was a proud supporter of the Massachusetts Lottery.
He and his wife, the former Shirley A. Stockley, were married in 1953. She died Nov. 5, 1975.
Mr. Pensivy leaves two sons, Michael J. Pensivy of Dalton and William M. Pensivy Jr. of Pittsfield; a daughter, Michelle R. Pensivy of Pittsfield; a sister, Frances J. Nicholas of Brattleboro, Vt.; three stepdaughters, Christine, Marlene and Wendy Dunnell; five stepsons, Randy, Barry, Terry, Gary and Jerry Dunnell; four grandchildren; and many step-grandchildren.
Two stepdaughters, Lucy Ginthwain and Lori Litchfield, are deceased.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for William "Pickles" M. Pensivy Sr., who died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007, will be conducted Friday at 10 a.m. at DERY FUNERAL HOME by the Rev. Msgr. Michael A. Shershanovich. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Pensivy may be made to the American Heart Association in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield.
Mr. Pensivy was the loving grandfather of Crystal M. and Michael A. Pensivy and Shirley A. and Deanna I. Crosier. He was predeceased by his longtime companion, Glenna Nolan, as well as five brothers and two sisters.
