Theresa A. Shelsey, 84, of 23 Daniels Ave. died Saturday at home.
Born in Pittsfield on Feb. 8, 1922, daughter of Damiano and Teresa Peri Scelsi, she was a graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Miss Shelsey was employed by New England Telephone Co. as an observer for 41 years, retiring in 1982.
She was a communicant of Mount Carmel Church, where she served as a lector, and a member of the Telephone Pioneers.
She enjoyed knitting.
She leaves her twin brother, Peter Shelsey of New Orleans, and three sisters, Mary Solera, Josephine Lentz and Antoinette Shelsey, all of Pittsfield.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Theresa Shelsey, who died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2007, will be Wednesday at 9:15 from DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at Mount Carmel Church celebrated by the Rev. Geoffrey Deeker, pastor.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Miss Shelsey also leaves her 11 loving nieces, five nephews and many grandnieces and nephews. Her family was a very important part of her life.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph S. Scelsi and Nicholas Shelsy. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Catholic Youth Center, in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
