Henry Joseph Loehr Jr., 80, of 7 Edward Ave. died Friday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on Sept. 5, 1926, son of Henry J. Loehr Sr. and Clara White Loehr, he was educated in Dalton schools.
A Navy veteran of World War II, he served from Oct. 11, 1944, to July 16, 1946.
Mr. Loehr was employed by Raynor's Bearings and Supplies for 31 years, retiring as manager of the industrial department.
He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and a 53-year member of its choir, and a member of its Holy Name Society.
He was also a member of American Legion Post 68 and the Pittsfield Civil Defense and sang in a barbershop chorus.
He leaves his wife, the former Betty Lou Sykes, whom he married July 30, 1949.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Henry J. Loehr Jr., who died Friday, Jan. 5, 2007, will be Tuesday at 10:15 from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 11 at Sacred Heart Church by the Rev. James K. Joyce, pastor.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Loehr may be made to Sacred Heart Church Choir Fund, in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
Mr. Loehr was predeceased by two brothers, Robert F. and Andrew G. Loehr, and by three sisters, Corinne A. Creamer, Marjorie E. McMullen and Jeanne M. Clavette. He also leaves several nieces and nephews.
