Colleen M. Chambers, 48, of Shrewsbury, formerly of Pittsfield, died Friday at home after a long battle with colon cancer.
Born in Pittsfield on Nov. 15, 1958, daughter of William and Carol O'Connor Carrigan, she graduated with the class of 1977 from St. Joseph's High School.
Besides her parents, of Pittsfield, she leaves her husband of 29 years, Paul D. Chambers; two daughters, Lori and Emily Chambers, both of Shrewsbury; four sisters, Lisa Kirchner of Londonderry, N.H., Kathy Carrigan of Vancouver, Wash., and Laurie Connor and Susan Doner, both of Pittsfield; and a brother, Patrick Carrigan of Pittsfield.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Colleen Chambers, who died Friday, Jan. 12, 2006, was a strong fighter as well as a loving and caring mother, wife, sister and friend who always enjoyed being in the company of others. She lit up the room with her smile and consistently made the best she could out of every day.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Colleen's family on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. in BRITTON-SHREWSBUR FUNERAL HOME, 648 Main St., Shrewsbury. Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Memorial contributions in Colleen's memory can be made to the Lance Armstrong Foundation by going to www.livestrong.org.
