Francis Timothy "Timmy" Shaw, 60, of 65 Columbus Ave., died at home early Tuesday.
Born in Pittsfield on Sept. 14, 1946, son of the late Arthur Edison Shaw and Bertha May Benson, he was educated in Pittsfield schools.
Mr. Shaw was a master craftsman and a local painter and carpenter for more than 40 years, retiring in 2003.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed doing sketch art.
He was also a lover of sweets and never passed up the opportunity to sample a freshly baked apple pie.
Mr. Shaw leaves one daughter, Jessica Shaw of Pittsfield; two sons, George Shaw of Dalton, and Craig Shaw of Lee High Acres, Fla.; two sisters, Bertha Shaw and Sandra Atwell, both of Pittsfield; his companion of more than 20 years, Marleen Marshall of Pittsfield; and nine grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Francis "Timmy" Shaw died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2007. At Mr. Shaw's request there will be no service or calling hours. Following cremation, burial will be at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations maybe made in his memory to HospiceCare of the Berkshires, in care of WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201, who is in charge of arrangements.
Timothy also leaves his companion Marleen's seven children, whom he raised as his own. Mr. Shaw was also predeceased by a brother, Arthur Shaw in 1969; and two sisters, Deborah McCauley in 1980, and Cecilia Verchot in 2006.
