Stephanie Rose Symanowicz, 93, of 176 Columbus Ave. died yesterday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on July 15, 1913, daughter of Ludwig and Bernice Brozowski Germanowski, she attended local schools.
Mrs. Symanowicz was a homemaker.
She was a communicant of Holy Family Church and enjoyed gardening and word-seek puzzles.
Her husband, Frank Symanowicz, died in November 1990.
She leaves a sister, Pauline Castranova of Pittsfield; a brother, Edmund Germanowski of Pittsfield; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Two sons, Bruce Symanowicz and Michael Symanowicz, died in September 1990 and January 1964, respectively.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Stephanie Rose Symanowicz died in Pittsfield on Friday, Jan. 19, 2007. She was the loving grandmother of Jeanne Maschino of Pittsfield, Christopher Symanowicz of Hinsdale, Bruce Symanowicz of Avoca, Iowa, David Symanowicz of Aliquippa, Pa., and Brian Symanowicz of Huntington, Vt. Stephanie was the proud great-grandmother to Sarah and Trevor Maschino, Carter, Spencer and Katherine Symanowicz of Iowa, and Elijah and Asher Symanowicz of Vermont.
She also leaves many nieces and nephews. The funeral for Mrs. Symanowicz will be conducted Tuesday, Jan. 23, at 10:30 at DWYER FUNERAL HOME by Monsignor Michael Shershanovich. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Calling hours will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9:30 until the time of the service. If friends desire, memorial donations may be made to Friends of Renal Dialysis Inc., in care of the funeral home, 776 North St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
