Norman Glazer

Norman Glazer, 81, died Monday at Springside of Pittsfield, where he had resided since September.
He was a former resident of Sugar Hill in Dalton and of Reno, Nev., and Los Angeles.
Born in Scranton, Pa., on April 19, 1925, son of Alfred and Matilda Phillips Glazer, he was a graduate of Fairfax High School in Los Angeles and attended the University of Southern California.
An Army veteran of World War II, he participated in campaigns in Normandy, Northern France and Germany and was awarded the Purple Heart. He remained a strong supporter of the military, regularly visiting soldiers who had returned from combat.
Mr. Glazer held executive positions in both the automobile and aviation industry.
He enjoyed photography, cars and international travel.
His wife, the former Shirley Schatzman, whom he married Jan. 19, 1947, died May 2, 2005.
He leaves two sons, Michael Glazer of Pittsfield and Jeffrey Glazer of Reno, and four grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Mr. Norman Glazer, who died Monday, Jan. 22, 2007, will be private and at the convenience of the family. Donations in his memory may be made to Berkshire Medical Center, in care of WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
He also leaves four grandchildren, Dana, Michelle, Nicholas and David Glazer.
