Joan F. Buckley, 76, of Northampton Street, Holyoke, died Friday at home.
Born Nov. 10, 1930, daughter of John and Irene Lawrence Buckley, she graduated from Henry W. Bishop III Memorial School of Nursing in Pittsfield in 1953 and received her master's degree from Cambridge College in Springfield.
A registered nurse, she was a longtime inspector of nursing homes and health care facilities for Massachusetts, retiring in 1990.
Ms. Buckley leaves many cousins, including Nancy Athas and Daniel, Thomas and James Bauer of Holyoke, David Bauer of Evergreen, Colo., Mark Grumoli of Northampton, Gary Grumoli of New York, Robert Bauer of Westfield and Amy Dowling of Avon, Conn.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Joan Buckley, who died Friday, Feb. 16, 2007, will be held Thursday morning at 9 from the BARRY J. FARRELL FUNERAL HOME, 2049 Northampton St., Holyoke, followed by a Mass in Blessed Sacrament Church at 10 a.m.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be tomorrow from 3 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Henry W. Bishop III School of Nursing Alumni Association Scholarship Fund, care of M. Hibbard, 96 Plunkett St., Pittsfield MA 01201.
Ms. Buckley also leaves many dear friends, and was predeceased by her beloved aunt, Evelyn Buckley.
