Elizabeth F. Pulasky Niarchos

Elizabeth F. Pulasky Niarchos, 86, of 35 Oak Hill Road, died Thursday at Albany Medical Center.
Born in Greenfield on Feb. 24, 1920, daughter of James and Matilda Dame Collins, she moved to Pittsfield at a young age and attended local schools.
She was employed by General Electric Co. in the power transformer department for 25 years, retiring in 1987. Previously, she worked at the former Elmvale Worsted Mill.
Mrs. Niarchos was a communicant of St. Charles Church, a member of the GE Quarter Century and Pensioners' clubs.
She enjoyed golfing and gardening.
Her first husband, Peter G. Pulasky, died in April 1972.
Her husband, Michael T. Niarchos, died in April 1996.
Mrs. Niarchos leaves three sons, Robert J. Pulasky and Joseph R. Pulasky, both of Pittsfield, and William M. Pulasky of Lanesborough; five daughters, Barbara Holmes of Roseville, Calif., and Patricia Tierney, Elizabeth Pulasky, Kathleen Brunell and Deborah Pulasky, all of Pittsfield; three stepsons, Thomas M. Niarchos of Lynnfield, James M. Niarchos of Salem and George M. Niarchos of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; three sisters, Loretta Boyle and Mary Gelaznik, both of Pittsfield; and Ann Huska of Castleton-on-the-Hudson, N.Y.; 28 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. A son, Peter P. Pulasky, died Feb. 15, 2004.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Elizabeth F. Niarchos, who died in Albany, N.Y., on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2007, was the beloved mother-in-law of Butch Brunell, William Tierney and Naomi Pulasky. The funeral will be Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the DWYER FUNERAL HOME, 776 North St., Pittsfield, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Charles Church, celebrated by the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are tomorrow from 4 to 7 p.m. Mrs. Niarchos was predeceased by a grandson, Barry Griffin; three brothers, James, John and Joseph Collins; and two sisters, Margaret Hayes and Theresa McCormick. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Barry Griffin Memorial Scholarship in care of the funeral home in her memory.
