Kim Evan Lavigne, 51, of 333 Onota St., died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2007, at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on July 9, 1955, son of the late Gertrude Stickles Lavigne, he was raised by foster parents, Herbert E. Sabin and the late Harriet E. Sabin, and moved back in with his mother at age 12.
He was a 1974 graduate of Taconic High School, and served in the Navy.
Mr. Lavigne was employed by Starbase Technologies in the maintenance department, where he had worked for the past three years. Before that, he was employed by Pittsfield Public Schools as a custodian for seven years. In earlier years, he was employed as a pressman for the former Scheaffer Eaton Textron.
He was a communicant of Holy Family Church and enjoyed boating, fishing and water skiing, playing pool and playing Yahtzee.
He and his wife, the former Marianne C. Stryjewski, were married Jan. 14, 1989.
Besides his wife and foster father, of Dalton, he leaves a brother, Paul Lavigne of Enfield, Conn., a foster brother, Wayne Wick of Dalton; and a foster sister, Wendy Street of Dalton.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Kim Evan Lavigne, who died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2007, will be Thursday at 8:15 a.m. from DERY FUNERAL HOME with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. at Holy Family Church, celebrated by Monsignor Michael A. Shershanovich, pastor.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be tomorrow from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Lavigne also leaves his sister-in-law, Joanne Neidig and her husband, Bennett Neidig of Bradenton, Fla.
He was predeceased by his foster brother, Glenn Sabin and his foster sister, Marilyn Connor.
