James Joseph Greaney

James Joseph Greaney, 96, of 81 Conz St., Northampton, formerly of 108 Brown St., died Wednesday afternoon at Hillcrest Commons, where he had resided since January.
Born in Waterbury, Conn., on July 27, 1910, son of James and Anne Sullivan Greaney, he attended Waterbury schools.
Mr. Greaney was employed in maintenance by the University of Massachusetts, where he worked for more than 30 years until his retirement in 1975.
He had at one time worked in real estate and in the loan department at the former Union Federal Savings and Loan Association in Pittsfield.
His wife, the former Valeria M. Waschko, whom he married Aug. 13, 1938, died Dec. 15, 1977.
He is survived by two sons, Michael P. Greaney of Maui, Hawaii, and Thomas P. Greaney of Eugene, Ore.; a daughter, Maryann Williamson of Pittsfield; and several grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, James P. Greaney, and a daughter, Pamela M. Gresham.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for James Joseph Greaney, who died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2007, will be private and at the convenience of the family.
There are no calling hours. DERY FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements.
