Phyllis M. Magnano

Phyllis M. Magnano, 86, of 51 Longfellow Ave., died Sunday at Berkshire Medical Center after a short illness.
Born in Pittsfield on Sept. 12, 1920, daughter of Francesco and Angela Iorio Pannesco, she was a lifelong resident of Pittsfield and graduated from local schools.
Mrs. Magnano was employed by Hibbard School as head cook for 15 years, retiring in 1985.
A communicant of St. Charles' Church, she enjoyed cooking, gardening and taking care of her family.
She and her husband, Vincent S. Magnano, were married Nov. 20, 1941, in Mount Carmel Church. He died March 8, 2003.
Mrs. Magnano leaves two sons, Vincent F. Magnano of Pittsfield and Peter S. Magnano of Hinsdale; two daughters, Diane P. McCluskey of Lanesborough and Therese M. Tenzer of Stow, Ohio; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Rosemarie Pharmer, died Aug. 24, 2000.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Phyllis M. Magnano died in Pittsfield on Sunday, March 4, 2007. The funeral will be Thursday at 9 a.m. from the DWYER FUNERAL HOME with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Charles Church, celebrated by the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be at the funeral home tomorrow from 4 to 7 p.m. Mrs. Magnano was predeceased by four sisters, Angelina Buckley, Josephine Furlong, Antoinette Reardon and Rose Moore, and a brother, Peter Pannesco.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Charles Church in care of the funeral home in her memory.
