Mario A. Ramasco

Mario A. Ramasco, 75, of 21 Montgomery Ave. died Wednesday afternoon at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Staten Island, N.Y., on Jan. 23, 1926, son of Antonio and Consiglia Lagliastri Ramasco, he graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School in the Bronx, N.Y. He moved to Pittsfield in 1979.
He served in the Navy submarine division for six years and then served in the Air Force for four years during the Korean War.
Mr. Ramasco was employed as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in the Bronx, retiring in 1979 after 20 years of service. After moving to Pittsfield, he worked for Met Path for several years.
He was a communicant of St. Charles' Church.
He leaves his wife, the former Patricia Williams, whom he married in 1954, in Liverpool, England; two sons, Richard A. Ramasco of Pittsfield and Drew M. Ramasco of Ocala, Fla.; a daughter, Patricia Lacrosse of Pittsfield; a sister, Amelia Albano of New York City, and 10 grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Peter Ramasco, who died in 1991.
Funeral services will be Monday, July 16, at 9:15 from DWYER FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 in St. Charles' Church by the Rev. Gary Dailey, pastor of St. Mary's Church in Lee. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery at a later date. Calling hours will be Sunday, July 15, from 2 to 5 at the funeral home. If friends desire, donations in his memory may be made to Wigs for Kids care of the funeral home.
