Daniel J. Maloy Jr., 61, of West Housatonic Street, died Friday at Berkshire Medical Center.
He had resided at Hillcrest Commons since December.
Born in Pittsfield on Aug. 16, 1945, son of Pauline Tappin Maloy and the late Daniel J. Maloy Sr., he attended local schools and was a 1963 graduate of St. Joseph Central High School.
Mr. Maloy had been employed by The Berkshire Eagle as a composer, retiring in 2004 due to ill health.
He enjoyed sports and was a Red Sox and Patriots fan.
Besides his mother, of Pittsfield, he leaves two daughters, Tina Stogner and Colleen Thomas, both of Tucson, Ariz.; a son, Eric Molleur of Pittsfield; four brothers, William Maloy of Westborough, James and David Maloy, both of Pittsfield and Paul L. "Mike" Maloy of Lanesborough; and four grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Daniel J. Maloy Jr., who died Friday, March 16, 2007, will have no calling hours, per his request. A memorial service, with burial, will take place at a later date in Arizona.
Contributions in memory of Dan may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in care of the DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201, which in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Maloy is also survived by his four grandchildren, Lindsey and Nicholas Stogner and Samantha and Emma Thomas and many nieces and nephews.
