Barbara Spurr Bulkeley

Barbara Spurr Bulkeley, 88, of Holmes Road, died Sunday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Great Barrington on Nov. 24, 1918, daughter of Earle C. and Marjorie Spurr Van Deusen, she grew up in Mount Washington and attended the one-room school there.
She graduated from the former Searles High School in Great Barrington and the former Berkshire Business College.
Mrs. Bulkeley was a poultry and potato farmer for more than 25 years with her husband, Morgan G. Bulkeley III.
In 1967 they moved to Pittsfield, where they continued to raise vegetables and flowers.
She and her husband were married Nov. 29, 1941.
Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter, Ruth Bulkeley Miles of Mount Washington; a son, Morgan G. Bulkeley IV of Mount Washington; three sisters, Dorie Southergill of Great Barrington, Cile Van Deusen of Mount Washington and Bernice Bergersen of East Hartland, Conn.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The family of Barbara Spurr Van Deusen Bulkeley, who died Sunday, March 25, 2007, will receive friends on Saturday, March 31, from 1 to 3 p.m. at FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME in Great Barrington. Memorial gifts may go to Green Berkshires Inc., in care of the funeral home, 426 Main St., Great Barrington, MA 01230.
Mrs. Bulkeley also leaves a son-in-law, Bill Miles, and a daughter-in-law, Eleanor Tillinghast, both of Mount Washington; and many nieces and nephews.
