Virginia M. Maynard, 72, of 335 Wahconah Heights, died Monday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Uxbridge on Jan. 10, 1935, daughter of James and Edith Litano VanValkenburg, she attended the local schools and was a graduate of the Worcester Trade School.
Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Maynard worked for a time as a waitress at the former Miss Pittsfield Diner.
She was a member of United Methodist Church of Lenox and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, tea, gardening and flowers.
She and her husband, the late Raymond L. Maynard, were married Dec. 6, 1959. He died July 30, 2000.
She leaves two sons, Raymond A. Maynard of Dalton and Keith B. Maynard of North Adams; two daughters, Kelly A. Elser of Adams and Diane L. Bourassa of Pittsfield; two sisters, Molly Holmes and Carol Martin, both of Pittsfield; seven grandchildren; and her former husband, Richard Henry.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Virginia M. Maynard, 72, who died Monday, April 2, 2007, will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME with the Rev. Valerie M. Roberts-Toler, pastor of United Methodist Church of Lenox, officiating.
Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, donations in her memory may be made to United Methodist Church of Lenox in care of the funeral home, 40 Maplewood Ave., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
She also leaves her grandchildren, Jordan M., Allysen E., Candice L., and Brian S. Maynard, Kayla M. and Kaleigh Elser, and Daniel C. Elser Jr.
