Frances C. Guiltinan, 84, died Friday, March 30 at her home.
Born in Pittsfield on Aug. 24, 1922, daughter of Dr. Francis J. and Elizabeth O'Leary Conlin, she was a 1940 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
She received her bachelor's degree from Smith College and her master's degree from Sienna College.
Mrs. Guiltinan was employed by the Pittsfield Public Schools as a chemistry teacher, retiring from Pittsfield High School in 1977 after many years of service. She also taught at the former South Junior High School.
She was a member of the Massachusetts Teachers Association and a communicant of Sacred Heart Church.
She and her husband, Robert C. Guiltinan, were married in 1946. He died in 1952.
She leaves two daughters, Ellen Casey of Hinsdale and Margaret Simes of Lafayette, Colo., and two grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Frances C. Guiltinan died in Pittsfield on Friday, March 30, 2007. She was the loving grandmother to Matthew Simes of Alamosa, Colo., and Caitlin Simes of Beaufort, S.C. She was predeceased by two sisters, Margaret Conlin and Barbara Conlin Guiltinan.
A memorial Mass will be held Friday, April 13 at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, celebrated by the Rev. James K. Joyce, pastor. Private burial services will be held at a later date. There are no calling hours at DWYER FUNERAL HOME.
Mrs. Guiltinan also leaves her son-in-law, Karl Simes, two nephews and a niece. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Care of the Berkshires, Animal D.R.E.A.M.S. or the Eleanor Sonsini Animal Shelter care of the funeral home, 776 North St., Pittsfield, in her memory.
