Catherine M. Haddad-Beron, 39, of 16 Oak Hill Road died Sunday at Berkshire Medical Center as the result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident earlier in the day.
Born in Arlington on Sept. 7, 1967, daughter of Joseph and Mary Greaney Haddad, she was a 1985 graduate of St. Joseph's High School and a 1989 graduate of the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she earned a master's degree in accounting.
Mrs. Haddad-Beron was employed by Berkshire Health Systems as administrative director of financial services at the time of her death. She began with the company as junior staff accountant on Aug. 7, 1989, and worked in business development and planning, cost accounting, contracting and budgeting. She also was director of reimbursement.
She was a member of the Health Care Financial Management Association, a national organization, where she held the position of fellow, the highest rank in the organization. She also was active in Berkshire Medical Center activities, serving as campaign manager for the Berkshire United Way, as well as participating in the annual golf tournament and Create-a-Dream fundraisers.
She was a communicant of St. Agnes' Church in Dalton and a member of the Hospital Finance Management Association.
She served on the board of the Berkshire Federal Credit Union and was a Big Sister through Girls' Incorporated, now the Gladys Allen Brigham Community Center. She enjoyed hiking, biking, snowmobiling and camping.
She and her husband, Harry Beron Jr., were married Oct. 24, 2003.
Besides her husband and parents, of Dalton, she leaves two stepsons, Harry Beron III and Robert Beron, both of Dalton; a brother, Stephen Haddad of Lawrenceville, Ga.; two sisters, Andrea Wasuk of Dalton and Suzanne Drury of Pittsfield; and her maternal grandmother, Winnifred Greaney of Dalton.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Catherine M. Haddad-Beron, who died Sunday, April 22, 2007, will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Agnes' Church in Dalton by the Rev. Christopher A. Malatesta, pastor.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be tomorrow, April 25, from 4 to 7 p.m. at DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Agnes' School Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
Mrs. Haddad-Beron also leaves two nieces, Julia and Sofia Drury, and a nephew, Brett Wasuk. She enjoyed time with family and friends.
