Helen Raczynski, 91, formerly of 379 East St., Providence Court, died yesterday at Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility, where she had resided since July 2006.
Born in Centralia, Pa., on April 4, 1916, daughter of Theodore and Margarete Smyda Roushinko, she attended schools there.
She lived in Millbrook, N.Y., before moving to Pittsfield in 1978.
Mrs. Raczynski was a homemaker.
She was a communicant of St. Charles' Church and enjoyed walking around the city.
Her husband, Zygmund Raczynski, died Oct. 8, 1978.
She leaves two sons, James Raczynski of Fort Johnson, N.Y., and Peter Raczynski of Pittsfield; a sister, Rose Werrell of Nutley, N.J.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Helen Raczynski died Saturday, May 5, 2007, in Pittsfield. The funeral will be Tuesday at 9 a.m. from DWYER FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Charles' Church celebrated by the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor.
Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery in Amsterdam, N.Y. Calling hours at the funeral home will be tomorrow from 4 to 7 p.m. If friends desire, donations may be made to St. Charles' Church, in care of the funeral home, 776 North St., Pittsfield, MA 01201, in her memory.
