Aline D. Deshaies, 83, of 89 Asci Drive died Friday at Berkshire Place, where she had resided since January.
Born in Leominster on Sept. 23, 1923, daughter of Joseph and Eva Bussiere Tourigny, she attended Canadian schools before moving to Pittsfield in 1950.
Mrs. Deshaies was employed by the former Stratton Coat Factory as a seamstress for 22 years until its closing in 1974.
She was a communicant of St. Francis' Church and a member of its Rosary Society.
She was also a member of the former Franco-American Club and enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
She and her husband, Paul E. Deshaies, were married Dec. 29, 1949. He died Jan. 4, 1991.
She leaves a brother, Roch Tourigny of Norwalk, Conn.,
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Aline D. Deshaies, who died Friday, May 11, 2007, will be Friday at 10:15 a.m. at DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 at St. Francis' Church celebrated by the Rev. Paul Bombardier, pastor.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. Mrs. Deshaies also leaves many nieces and nephews, and her longtime friend, Theresa Dugan of Pittsfield. A brother, Roland Tourigny, and five sisters, Georgette Lupien, Lucille LeBlanc, Francois Beuadoin, Gilbeth Nass and Mariette Perusse, are deceased.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Francis' Church or to the Arthritis Foundation, both in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
