Ronald Murray Leach

Ronald Murray Leach, 69, of 65 Clydesdale Drive, died yesterday at Berkshire Medical Center.

Born in Camden, Maine, on Sept. 16, 1937, son of Lawrence and Isabelle Johnson Leach, he attended schools in Camden and was a 1955 graduate of Bellingham High School.

He had served in the Army.

Mr. Leach was employed by United Parcel Service for 35 years, retiring in 1995 as a customer service representative.

He was a supporter of youth hockey through the Pittsfield Boys' and Girls' Club and served as a chairman of the board for the Gib Kittredge Hockey Tournament. He was a member of the Skyline Country Club, where he enjoyed playing golf. He also coached minor league baseball for many years and played softball for the city league. He enjoyed traveling.

He and his wife, the former Patricia A. Genoa, were married June 4, 1960, at St. Mary's Church in Franklin.

Besides his wife, Mr. Leach leaves a son, Steven J. Leach of Pittsfield, and four grandchildren.

Another son, Gary M. Leach, died Aug. 2, 1981.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Ronald Murray Leach, who died Wednesday, May 16, 2007, will be conducted Saturday at 10 a.m. at DERY FUNERAL HOME by the Rev. William D. Furey, pastor of Berkshire Union Chapel.

Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Leach may be made to the Berkshire Medical Center Wound Clinic.

He also leaves four grandchildren, Shaun, Gary and Kayla Leach and Morgannne Foley. A brother, Lawrence Leach, is deceased.
