Tracyee Alexander Afari, 51, of 89 John St., died Monday at home.
Born in Pittsfield on July 1, 1955, daughter of Earl G. and Iris Bowery Persip, she was a 1973 graduate of Taconic High School and attended Berkshire Community College.
At the time of her death, Mrs. Afari was a client manager for Berkshire County ARC, where she had worked for the past 20 years. Previously, she had worked as a managing supervisor at Side By Side.
She and her husband, Patrick Afari, were married Sept. 18, 2005.
Besides her husband, she leaves three daughters, Stacy Norwood of Dumfries, Va., and Monique Johnson and Janelle Alexander, both of Pittsfield; three brothers, Allen Nolan of Hamilton, Bermuda, Lloyd Nolan and Earl G. Persip Jr., both of Pittsfield; a sister, Erma Golden of Northampton; and six grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Tracyee Alexander Afari, who died Monday, May 28, 2007, will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Second Congregational Church, conducted by the Rev. Willard H. Durant, pastor emeritus of Price Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church.
Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Afari may be made to the Five Wives Scholarship Fund in care of the funeral home.
Mrs. Afari also leaves her six grandchildren, Donn Norwood Jr., Isaiah and Savon Norwood, Macaila and Shalin Green and Noah Scott, as well as six nieces and nine nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Althea Patrick. She enjoyed spending time with family, friends and grandchildren.
