Barbara L. Crespi, 75, of 30 Pembroke Ave. died Thursday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Gilman, Vt., on Feb. 21, 1932, daughter of Alvah and Alice Proulx Dresser, she was a 1950 graduate of Pittsfield High School and was a resident of Pittsfield for most of her life.
Mrs. Crespi was employed by General Electric Co. in the finance department, retiring in 1989 with 30 years of service.
She was a communicant of All Souls' Church and a member of the GE Quarter Century and Pensioners' clubs, and the Italian-American Club.
She played golf and cards and enjoyed sports, especially the Red Sox.
She and her husband, Aldo Crespi, were married May 8, 1964.
Besides her husband, she leaves two daughters, Doreen A. Magnano of Pittsfield and Donna M. LeClair of Mount Vernon, Wash.; a son, Marc R. Crespi of Melrose; and three grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Barbara L. Crespi died in Pittsfield on Thursday, June 7, 2007. She was the loving grandmother of Nicole O'Neil, and Gabriel and Leah Crespi. Mrs. Crespi was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She also leaves her son-in-law, Vincent Magnano, and her daughter-in-law, Aileen Crespi. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m.at All Souls' Church by the Rev. Geoffrey J. Deeker, CSS, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours at DWYER FUNERAL HOME, which is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires, in care of the funeral home, 776 North St., Pittsfield, MA 01201, in her memory. Following the committal service on Wednesday, a celebration of her life will be held at noon at the Italian-American Club, 203 Newell St.
