Isabel C. Deming Albert Mauldin

Isabel C. Deming Albert Mauldin, 93, of 379 East St., died Monday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on March 10, 1914, daughter of Charles H. and Carrie Row Deming of Lanesborough, she was a direct descendant of Solomon and Sarah Deming, the first "white settlers" among the native Americans of the local area.
She attended The Little Red Schoolhouse and The Old Stonehouse School and graduated from Pittsfield High School in June 1931.
Mrs. Mauldin and her first husband, Burton Albert Sr., were co-proprietors of Albert's Housekeeping Cottages and Apartments, a perennial destination for Tanglewood concert-goers and musicians in the Boston Symphony Orchestra. She managed the family business from 1949 until 1972, during the last five years of which she also served as a part time secretary and bookkeeper for the C & S Masonry Co. in Pittsfield.
She was a member of Pittsfield's First United Methodist Church and its Naomi Circle, the Lanesborough Grange, the Heart of the Berkshires Grange and Froio Senior Center in Pittsfield.
She was a lifetime member of the Lanesborough Council on Aging. Mrs. Mauldin enjoyed bowling, square dancing, jigsaw and word puzzles, sewing and following country-western and NASCAR stars.
On Feb. 1, 1936, she and her first husband were married. He died in 1965.
She and her husband, Talbert D. Mauldin, were married Sept. 20, 1972. He died in 1993.
Mrs. Mauldin leaves three sons, Burton Albert Jr., of Avon, Conn., Leland "Lee" Albert of Banning, Calif., and Gary R. Albert of Lanesborough; three stepsons, George R. Mauldin of Dover, Tenn., Monroe T. Mauldin of Goshen, Ala., and I. Lomax Mauldin of Orlando, Fla.; three stepdaughters, Carolyn Matthews of Orlando, Fla., and Debra Mauldin and Kathy Sue Caltagirone, both of Naples, Fla.; a sister, Elvie O. Deming of Pittsfield; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several step-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A memorial service for Isabel C. Deming Albert Mauldin, who died Monday, June 18, 2007, will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Pittsfield by the Rev. Luis Benavides, pastor, and the Rev. Robert Skidmore.
There will be no calling hours. Donations in her memory may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires or to a charity of the donor's choice, care of WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201. Mrs. Mauldin also leaves two nieces.
She was predeceased by her brother, Leslie C. Deming of Zephyrhills, Fla.
