Jennie F. Gaetani, 89, formerly of 134 Dalton Ave., died Tuesday at Hillcrest Commons Health Care Facility.
She was the owner and operator of Jennie's Hairdressing Salon in the Pender block for 50 years, retiring in 1995.
Born in Pittsfield on Sept. 6, 1917, daughter of James and Mary Carbone Bruzzi, she was a lifelong resident of Pittsfield and attended local schools.
She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church.
Her husband, Joseph A. Gaetani, died July 27, 1992.
She leaves two sisters, Katherine Martino of Richmond and Ginny Lahey of the state of Florida; a grandson, Mark Gaetani, with whom she resided, and another grandson; and two great-granddaughters.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Jennie F. Gaetani, longtime Pittsfield hairdresser, died Tuesday, June 26, 2007. Loving grandmother to Shane and Mark and great-grandmother to Kayla and Heather.
The funeral will be tomorrow at 9 a.m. at DWYER FUNERAL HOME, conducted by the Rev. Paul Bombardier, pastor of St. Mary's Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
Four sisters, Mary Pivero, Kelly Fino, and Rose and Anna Bruzzi; and three brothers, Frank, James and Joseph Bruzzi, are deceased.
