Soula D. Diamond, 83, of 28 Plastics Ave., died Saturday at her home.
Born in Pittsfield on Aug. 11, 1923, daughter of Dennis G. and Urania T. Gourdouveli Diamond, she was a graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Ms. Diamond was employed by General Electric Co. in the naval ordnance systems department, where she served as a union steward. She retired in 1981 with 38 years of service.
She was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church and a member of The Ladies Philoptochos Society.
Ms. Dimond leaves a brother, Theodore Diamond of North Greenbush, N.Y.; and a sister, Georgia Caprino of Niskayuna, N.Y.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Soula D. Diamond, who died Saturday, July 14, 2007, will be conducted Wednesday, at 10:30 a.m., from DERY FUNERAL HOME, and at 11 a.m., at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, by the Rev. Constantine C. Cambas.
Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Ms. Diamond may be made to St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 73 Bradford St.
Ms. Diamond is also survived by her sister-in-law, Olga Diamond; her brother-in-law, Joseph Caprino; nephews, Dennis T. and his wife, Dorina Diamond, of Sagamore Hills, Ohio; and Peter W. and his wife, Ruth Diamond, of Stamford, Conn.; nieces, Barbara A. and her husband, Stephen Plante, of Great Falls, Va.; and Kathy and her husband Arthur Lipner of Wilton, Conn.; and grandnephews and nieces, Benjamin Diamond, Daniel Diamond, Ava Plante, Kelsey Plante, Elliot Lipner, and Julia Lipner.
