Walker J. Miller, 84, of Hillcrest Commons died yesterday at Berkshire Medical Center after a brief illness.
He was born in Mechanicville, N.Y., on June 27, 1923, son of Walker and Amelia Hammond Miller.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. Walker worked as an administrator for the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance for many years. .
He was married to the former Mary Evans.
Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Paul L. Miller of Alabama and Joel W. Miller of Pittsfield; a sister, Jenny Mae Lazotte of New York state; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a son, Robert W. Miller Sr.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Walker J. Miller, who died Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007, will be private and at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Entombment will be in Memory's Garden.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Northeastern New York, 85 Watervliet Ave., Albany, NY 12206, or to the Multiple Sclerosis Association, 421 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205. Mr. Miller always maintained his unique sense of humor, joking with those around him right up until the end.
