Robert Harold Brennan

Robert Harold Brennan, 82, of 30 Kenilworth St. died yesterday at Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility, where he had resided for 2 1/2 years.

Born in Amsterdam, N.Y., on March 1, 1925, son of Harold J. and Marion Fitzgerald Brennan, he was a 1943 graduate of Amsterdam High School and a 1947 graduate of Union College in Schenectady, N.Y.

He served in the Army.

Mr. Brennan was employed by General Electric Co. as an electrical engineer, designing regulators. He retired in 1988 with 43 years of service.

He was a communicant of St. Teresa's Church and a member of its Nocturnal Adoration Society, and a member of the GE Quarter Century and Pensioners' clubs, and of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.

He was a fan of the New York Yankees and enjoyed politics, classical music and walking. For many years, he enjoyed his cottage at Lake George, N.Y.

He and his wife, the former Ann M. Burns, would have celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary Sept. 15. They were married at St. Patrick's Church in Elmira, N.Y.

Besides his wife, he leaves five sons, Thomas E. Brennan of Pittsfield, John F. Brennan of Worcester, Terry J. Brennan of Pawtucket, R.I., James F. Brennan of San Francisco and Robert T. Brennan of Pittsfield; a daughter, Patricia A. Brennan of Atlanta; a brother, Edward J. Brennan of Syracuse, N.Y.; a sister, Marion K. Stuvland of St. Louis, Mo.; and three grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Robert Harold Brennan, who died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2007, will be Wednesday, Sept. 5, at 10:15 a.m. at DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Teresa's Church celebrated by the Rev. Mark Mengel, SSC, pastor.

Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Brennan may be made to St. Teresa's Church or to the Church of the Blessed Sacrament in Hague, N.Y.

Mr. Brennan also leaves his daughters-in-law, Jennifer Hays Brennan and Laurie Brennan; three grandchildren, Charlotte Hays, Sandra Hays and Chloe Brennan; and sisters-in-law, Gloria Brennan and Margaret Brennan. He was predeceased by a brother, William L. Brennan.
