Mark L. Johnson, 53, of Upton, formerly of Pittsfield, died Friday at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston after a brief illness.
Born in Brockton on June 8, 1954, son of Herbert A. Johnson Sr. and Jean Wilkie Johnson, he grew up in Pittsfield and was a 1973 graduate of Taconic High School.
He was a Coast Guard veteran of the Vietnam War.
Mr. Johnson was employed by Sun Microsystems as a systems engineer.
He and his wife, the former Tina L. Jones, were married 33 years.
Besides his wife and parents, of Plymouth, he leaves four daughters, Kerri Johnson of Waterford, N.Y., and Holly, Katie and Jillian Johnson, all of Upton; two brothers, Herbert A. "Skip" Johnson Jr. of Naples, Fla., and Paul Johnson of Plymouth; and a sister, Betty Munschy of Londonderry, N.H.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Mark L. Johnson, who died Friday, Sept. 7, 2007, will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at WILLIAMS-PEDERSEN FUNERAL HOME, 45 Main St., Upton.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the Boy Scouts of America.
