Joseph J. Condron

Joseph J. Condron, 83, formerly of 147 Pomeroy Ave., died Sunday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on April 5, 1924, son of Michael H. and Mary Cullen Condron, he was a graduate of Pittsfield High School.
He attended Colgate University in Hamilton, N.Y., and in 1946 received a degree in naval sciences from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester.
He was commissioned an ensign in the Navy Reserve.
Mr. Condron was employed for 36 years by the state Department of Public Works, retiring in 1987.
He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. He enjoyed reading, classical music, doing crossword puzzles, and spending time at the Ralph Froio Senior Center.
He leaves many nieces and nephews, including his caregiver and niece, Kathryn Condron Jablonski of Pittsfield.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Joseph J. Condron, who died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2007, will be held Wednesday at 10:15 at DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME, 40 Maplewood Ave., Pittsfield. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church by the Rev. James K. Joyce, pastor.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Condron also leaves great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was predeceased by four brothers, Edward H., Michael H., Francis J. and John F. Condron, and by three sisters, Mary E. and Elizabeth H. Condron, and Marjorie L. Toner.
