Carmela M. McLean, 86, of Firetown Road, Simsbury, Conn., died Sunday at McLean Nursing Home in Simsbury, Conn.
She was the mother of John L. McLean of Pittsfield.
Born in Springfield on April 13, 1921, daughter of Alexander and Filamena Splenda Cardano, she resided in Harwick before moving to Simsbury more than 12 years ago.
Mrs. McLean was a Royal Plastics representative for many years.
She enjoyed gardening and cooking.
Her husband, Earl A. McLean, died April 26, 1995.
Besides her son, she leaves two daughters, Judith Keenan of Ware and Carol McLean-Shinaman of Tariffville, Conn.; two sisters, Jean Foresi-Allen of West Springfield and Ann Ruggerio of North Carolina; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Mass of Christian Burial for Carmela M. Cardano McLean, who died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2007, will be celebrated Thursday at 9 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 940 Hopmeadow St., Simsbury, Conn. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, 1601 State St., Springfield, at 11 a.m. VINCENT FUNERAL HOME, Simsbury, is assisting with arrangements.
There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to McLean, Alzheimer's Unit, 75 Great Pond Road, Simsbury, CT 06070. She also leaves a son-in-law, Chuck McLean-Shinaman; a sister-in-law, Theresa Cardano of Springfield; grandchildren, David and Joseph St. Cyr, Tonya McLean Sutphin, Shane and Alissa McLean, and Eric, Jeffrey, Liezl, Carolyn and David McLean-Shinaman; and great-grandchildren, Elyssa, Alexander, Cody, Emily, Charlotte and Ruby.
